The base currency you chose at registration decides whether a conversion happens on the way in. A conversion is a cost even when the transfer itself is free.

Withdrawals come back the way they came

Anti-money-laundering rules push a withdrawal back along the route the deposit took, to the same card or the same bank account in the same name.

That is why a third-party card never works, and why the verification above is worth finishing before the first deposit rather than at the moment you want the money out.

The costs nobody counts

The transfer fee is the visible one. The others are the conversion into the base currency, and the overnight swap if a gold position stays open — work the second one out with the profit calculator before you hold.

If an idea only works when every cost is zero, it does not work.
